Netflix viewers have been naming the 'most disappointing' shows released this year, and one particular series received surprisingly harsh criticism despite its high ratings.

On Reddit, one viewer posed the question about the "worst/most disappointing Netflix shows of 2025". They explained: "While there are some good TV shows on Netflix this year, there are also a lot of very bad TV shows that people have been outraged at for Netflix milking them or creating so badly."

The same fan listed Squid Game season three as their pick, before asking: "How about you? Please upvote and share this."

Surprisingly, Nobody Wants This season two emerged as an unexpected frontrunner in the discussion, with one viewer branding it as 'unwatchable'.

The romantic drama first launched in 2024 and immediately captured the hearts of both critics and audiences alike. It centres on agnostic podcaster Joanne (portrayed by Kristen Bell), who begins a romantic entanglement with recently single rabbi Noah (Adam Brody), reports the Mirror.

Despite their undeniable chemistry, the pair struggle to balance their relationship alongside their vastly contrasting lifestyles. This central tension formed the backbone of the first series, which secured an impressive 95% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics.

However, when season two arrived in October, fans felt the show had "lost its charm". The majority of critics maintained that the new episodes simply recycled the same storyline from season one, rather than delivering something new and exciting for audiences.

The show subsequently received a 53% audience score, whilst critics gave it a more favourable 79% rating. This brought the romantic comedy's overall critical score down to 87%, which remains a decent rating.

However, that hasn't stopped viewers from sharing their harsh opinions. Taking to social media, one person confessed: "I loved S1 [of Nobody Wants This] so much. S2 just repeated the same storyline."

Someone else agreed, replying: "I loved S1. S2 was unwatchable. Nobody wants a S3!".

Whilst a third fan added: "S2 was SOOO BAD, they had no storyline, I'm done with that show."

Yet another Netflix subscriber wrote: "I was really bummed about it. Pushed through 3 episodes and gave up. Season 1 was fantastic. [...] What a shame."

And a final viewer penned: "Agreed 2 sucked! Joanne was insufferable."

Despite the scathing reviews, Nobody Wants This has been confirmed to return for a third season next year. It remains to be seen whether the forthcoming instalment will live up to the first series' impressive rating.
