Marcus Mumford has opened up about hosting Taylor Swift at his residence, praising her as "phenomenal". The Mumford and Sons frontman revealed that the Pennsylvania-born superstar stayed at his property following an approach from Aaron Dessner, one of Swift's frequent musical collaborators.
Dessner had been searching for a private recording venue in the UK, with Mumford jesting that the undisclosed artist must be "Beyonce or something". He could scarcely have imagined that the 14-time Grammy Award winner would soon be a guest under his roof.
Swift utilised the recording facilities to work on portions of her album Evermore, and even enlisted Mumford to feature on a track titled "Cowboy Like Me".
During an appearance on Jessie Ware's podcast Table Manners, Mumford remarked: "She was the most phenomenal house guest and she brought a killer candle, her candle game was excellent, and she finished the second half of Evermore in our studio. Then she asked me to sing on one (track), and I said, 'yes'."
Taylor has also reflected on this collaboration whilst performing on tour, sharing how thrilled she felt about inviting Marcus to contribute to one of her songs, reports the Mirror.

Addressing a crowd in Las Vegas, she recounted: "He calls me up and he's like I have really really good news. Marcus Mumford said that you could record at his home studio.
"First of all I'm so excited that he's saving us because without this trip we wouldn't have recorded five of six of the songs on Evermore. [They] came from me getting in a car and driving six hours out into country past thousands of beautiful sheep to Marcus Mumford's beautiful house where he has a studio.
"I got there and the whole time I'm thinking, oh wouldn't it be so cool if he would sing on something because I'm such a Mumford and Sons fan and I just think he is brilliant and has one of the most gorgeous voices in the world.
"But I didn't want to be weird about it, so I was like I wonder if he will wonder in, fate will have him wonder into the studio. So sure enough we're recording a song and he wonders in at the perfect time and just starts humming a perfect harmony.
"And I sort of turned to him like I hadn't been thinking about it the whole time and said 'oh, you sounds really good on that harmony I wonder if maybe you might sing on this song'. And he was like 'yep, would love to'."
Throughout her mammoth 21-month Eras Tour, the 35-year-old superstar allowed cameras to capture every moment for a Disney Plus documentary series.
The behind-the-scenes docuseries, 'The End of An Era', reveals the intricate workings behind the global phenomenon that became Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, offering devotees an exclusive glimpse into the pop icon's world as her spectacular shows dominated headlines and captivated audiences worldwide. Moreover, the series features performances and appearances from Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch.
The initial two episodes of the series were launched on December 12.
Subsequently, a pair of episodes will be unveiled each week. Taylor shared her thoughts on the decision to create the series on social media: "It was the End of an Era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives.
"So we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety."
