Robert Irwin has opened up about how "challenging" dating can be whilst living in the public eye.
The 21 year old wildlife conservationist - son of the late Crocodile Hunter icon Steve Irwin - has always kept his personal life private, though he acknowledged the pressures of maintaining relationships under constant scrutiny.
Speaking to the New York Times newspaper, he said: "Holy moly, that's so challenging to navigate."
He explained the difficulty of socialising whilst knowing "anything you do will be on TikTok the next day".
Having been raised in the spotlight due to his famous father, Robert emphasised he has "no persona to hide behind".
He added: "I never change what I say, what I do, who I am one bit, wherever I am.
"It's just me, and I stand by who I am."
When the Dancing With The Stars participant needs respite from celebrity life, he returns to Australia where morning surf sessions provide sanctuary.
He said: "That is my meditation. It's my church. It's my everything."
Robert's remarks about relationships follow speculation linking him romantically with Marvel star Xochitl Gomez on DWTS, after they delivered an intimate performance together during the November 11 episode.
When questioned about the speculation, he remained tight-lipped, simply telling TMZ: "We had the best time. That dance was so much fun."
Whilst praising the 19 year old actress, he ensured the conversation remained focused on their dancing partnership.
Speaking to Deadline, he said: "It feels like we're so on the same wavelength when it comes to approaching the jive.
"We're like, 'Make sure it's really fun and then Witney can come in and make sure your toes are pointed.' ".
