Kevin Clifton has paid an emotional tribute to his friend Jonathan Clough, a former Strictly Come Dancing producer who has passed away following a battle with a brain tumour.
Jonathan, aged 35, was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma in 2024. A fundraising appeal had been launched to help him access specialist treatment.
His television credits included work on Strictly, The Apprentice, and Gogglebox.
Kevin, a former professional dancer on the BBC programme, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram accompanied by photos of Jonathan.
He wrote: "An amazing friend, an amazing man, an amazing father and a heck of a fighter for his amazing family. I will miss you forever [heartbroken emoji]", reports Wales Online.
The 43-year-old received an overwhelming response from friends and followers alike.
His partner, Stacey Dooley, was amongst the first to reply, posting a heart emoji. One well-wisher wrote: "I'm so sorry. Sending hugs and comfort."
Another added: "Heck of a man who will be missed so very much."
A third person commented: "Love and condolences to you all."
Actor Sam Swainsbury has also posted a touching tribute to Jonathan, who worked on the Strictly production team between 2017 and 2019.
In an emotional Instagram message, the Thor: The Dark World star said, "Jonathan Clough. Thank you to everyone who donated to, shared and commented on Jonathan's GoFundMe page.
"The help and support that poured out was overwhelming. It made an ENORMOUS difference. And opened up so many doors that were previously locked shut. He saw his daughter's first day at school. He then made it to her first play. He then made it to Christmas. He then sadly passed on Boxing Day. He fought for every last second. He exceeded all expectations. He was extraordinary. I don't have many more words than that. I still can't believe it. But thank you."
The actor launched a fundraising appeal on GoFundMe in memory of his friend, after Jonathan and his partner, Tracy Martin, were forced to give up their television careers, sell their London property and move back to Wigan with their two young daughters to stay with her parents.
In a heartfelt message on the GoFundMe page, Tracy explained how their lives had been turned upside down following Jonathan's sudden collapse due to a seizure in March 2024.
She shared: "Two months after that, the results of an MRI brought our world crashing down. Our brilliant Jonathan, at only 35-years-old, was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma - an extremely aggressive and incurable brain cancer."
Jonathan had surgery to remove the tumour, before undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. But further scans revealed the cancer had returned, with doctors declaring it inoperable.
