Kate Garraway has endured a bizarre mishap after an collision with a taxi. The presenter sustained two cracked teeth, documenting the ordeal on her Instagram account.

The Good Morning Britain host posted a video displaying her damaged tooth caps and revealed that she had initially attempted to secure them using Fixodent before going live. Unfortunately, just moments before she began presenting, the adhesive, typically used for dentures, gave way, resulting in the broken tooth fragment falling out.

In the caption accompanying her video, Kate explained: "Backstage dramas @ gmb - and for once it's real! Letting you in on the horror behind the scenes on Monday's show... After an unfortunate collision with a taxi window at the weekend I cracked my two front teeth caps.. of course they then fell out just before going on air.

"All I can say is it's hard to appear young and cool in front of a whole new team of trendy producers when you are reduced to glueing your teeth on with denture fixative at three in the morning! ! ! An emergency trip to dentist means now have a temporary set of fake teeth ...but they are soooo massive - bless you @alancarr I now know your challenges! ! Just hoping they hold for @gmb tmrw from 6 a.m with @richardmadeleyofficial - glue at the ready! ! !".

Kate's post quickly attracted numerous responses from colleagues and fans alike. Susanna Reid wrote: "Oh my," accompanied by a crying face emoji and red heart, reports the Mirror.

Meanwhile, Ashley James exclaimed: "OMG Kate! !" Her ITV colleague Jonathan Swain confessed: "I was standing next to you in the studio and didn't notice a thing!"

One fan expressed their surprise, commenting: "Thought this was AI! ! Hope you get your teeth fixed soon," Another remarked: "Good job it was just the caps you damaged."

A third said: "Ah the glamour."

Kate's unexpected accident occurred shortly after she addressed speculation about a "new boyfriend", following the passing of her husband, Derek, who died in 2024. Kate posted an AI-generated image of herself with a man, which had been making rounds on social media, leading some to believe he was her new partner.

Posting a snapshot of a newspaper headline, she wrote: "Very excited to see my 'new boyfriend' revealed", before jokingly adding: "isn't he #dreamy? ! !" However, she later clarified that the image was entirely AI-generated and there was no truth to the rumours.

She continued: "for months now people (even those who know me really well) have been asking me about stuff out there that is totally fake. On one level, it's really sweet that people care about my life, but very confusing and in some cases, hurtful for the kids when it's #fakenews.

"Thank goodness we still have some proper 'human' journalists out there, but this is something all of us need to think about when getting our 'news' on the net, that it's a trusted source. In this case, it only affects me really and is fundamentally silly and daft, but imagine if it were something more important, the damage it could do? #properjournalism #gmb."
