Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh has experienced a devastating loss, prompting an outpouring of support from fans. The 38 year old star, who portrays Tracy Robinson on the ITV soap, turned to Instagram on Wednesday (January 7) to share heartbreaking news.
Amy posted a tribute on her Story announcing the death of actor Frazer Hammill. "Rest in peace you wonderful man," she penned alongside his photograph.
Frazer was recognised for his roles in Justice League, Last Laugh, Happy Valley and Abraham's Point, as well as portraying a prison guard in Emmerdale in 2021.
The John Godber Theatre Company broke the tragic news on their official Instagram account, stating: "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Frazer Hammill. It is impossible to put into words how much he will be missed by all of us who had the absolute joy of working with him."
The Yorkshire-based theatre company continued, "Frazer had a huge, loving heart and enormous talent. We are all heartbroken", reports the Mirror.
Amy responded in the comments section: "There are no words," accompanied by three broken heart emojis. Numerous others expressed their sorrow, sharing fond memories of the former youth theatre member.
"Shocked and saddened to see this, sending my thoughts to his family and loved ones," one individual commented, whilst another contributed: "A gentle spirit and a huge heart. Love to all."
A third remarked, "What a brilliant person and performer he was! We're all deeply saddened to hear this," with another echoing the sentiment, "Truly heartbroken."
A fourth admirer echoed similar sentiments, commenting: "Such sad news, I'll always remember his lessons and his kind words. Thinking of his family and friends at this hard time," whilst another penned: "What an absolute gem of a man. A true loss to the world. RIP Frazman."

Amy became part of the Emmerdale cast in 2014. Throughout her tenure in the Dales, the actress has featured in numerous unforgettable storylines.
Tracy has notably experienced the devastating loss of her father, Frank Clayton (Michael Praed), engaged in an affair with Caleb Miligan (William Ash), and was involved in last year's devastating limo crash.
The shop assistant also suffered the loss of her husband, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), following his murder at the hands of killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in September 2024.
In a flashback sequence, John, who met his demise at the hands of his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) during this week's Corriedale crossover, administered an unidentified substance to Nate with the supposed aim of "saving" him. Tragically, Nate suffered a fatal reaction to the medication and died.
John subsequently transported Nate's body to the bridge and disposed of the concealed corpse in the lake, the very location where the limo crash had previously occurred.
Throughout her time on the ITV soap, Amy has received multiple award nominations for her performance as Tracy. She earned a nomination for Serial Drama Performance at the 25th National Television Awards, alongside Best Actress at the 2021 Inside Soap Awards and Best Soap Performance at the I Talk Telly Awards during the same year.
