Martin Kemp's spouse Shirlie has shared her worries about how her husband is conducting himself on I'm a Celebrity.

The Spandau Ballet musician is currently a contestant on the ITV programme and has become a favourite amongst both fellow campmates and audiences. However, Shirlie - who wed Martin in 1988 - has confessed she believes he's being somewhat "reserved" and ought to step up his game.

During her appearance on ITV's Lorraine on Tuesday (December 2), she even urged producers to give her other half more Bushtucker trials, reports the Express.

Shirlie, who has travelled to Australia to support her spouse whilst he's in the jungle, explained to presenter Lorraine Kelly: "I think Martin's been quite quiet, though, because I think that's who he is. He's quite quiet and he likes to listen. So sometimes I want to say, 'Martin, come on, do more.'"

"But I think it's a good detox and a rest for him."

Lorraine responded: "Sometimes it's the people who are quite quiet that can actually do better as it goes along. The big, loud characters tend to get sort of voted out quite, quite quickly. And you know there's huge affection for him."

The television host suggested Martin was in the competition for the duration, but Shirlie replied: "Well, I don't know, because he needs more trials. He's not doing enough.

"I think he's very comfortable," she continued.

"He's not doing anything to annoy anyone, so no one's voting him to do a horrible trial.

"So, we do need to see him do some more trials, because I think he'd be up for it anyway," she concluded. "I don't know how much longer, but I also secretly want him to come out and enjoy all this, because Australia's amazing."

Shirlie also confessed that she felt somewhat uncomfortable about the fact that she was having a great time in Australia while her husband was enduring the harsh conditions of the camp.

"I do feel guilty that I'm the one enjoying having all the glory and enjoying lovely room service, glass of wine in the evenings, and Martin is sat on a log drinking boiled water!" she chuckled.

Both Lorraine and I'm a Celebrity air on ITV.
