I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star Alex Scott has disclosed that she's been spending every day at hospital supporting her girlfriend Jess Glynne following her departure from the reality show.
The football pundit became the first contestant voted out of this year's series, having entered the jungle alongside the likes of Shona McGarty, Aitch, Tom Read Wilson, Angry Ginge, Martin Kemp and Lisa Riley.
Speaking to Ant and Dec afterwards, she said: "It's been such an incredible experience. I didn't think that... mentally it is so tough, and I did struggle at times, missing home and everything.
"But I'm so glad I got to do this series with such a great bunch of campmates.", she added, reports the Express.
She continued: "We really connected, and I never expected that coming into the jungle, to make the bonds that we all did."
Many viewers had anticipated Jess would be waiting to greet Alex on the bridge following her jungle exit, but both women subsequently explained the singer's absence.
Jess shared on social media: "Over the last few weeks, my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery.
"It's been a really life-altering time for my family, and I've had to stay close to home.
"Alex would always want me to be where I'm needed most. I can't wait to have her back by my side."
Alex subsequently confirmed she would be skipping the I'm A Celebrity wrap party to head home and support Jess through this challenging period. During an appearance on Lorraine, she provided an update, stating: "When I came out and saw that Jess wasn't at the end of the bridge, her mum has suffered a really bad stroke and had to have brain surgery.
"I had to rush home and be with my Jessica."
She continued: "She's in critical care at the moment, so we've been at the hospital every day, and straight after here we'll be heading there."
Alex previously confided in The Daily Mail: "It's been a hard couple of months, but Jess was like I want you to go on the show and do it for my mum.
"It's been tough because I want to be here for the wrap party and I have to get home straight away.
"She's my Jessica, and I'm going home to be her rock. My campmates knew what I was going through and I just want to thank everyone at ITV and my camp mates because they've all shown me so much support."
Reflecting on her stint on I'm A Celebrity, Alex shared with Lorraine host Ranvir Singh: "I always wanted to show people the real me, when I do sports shows, it's a very serious, 'We need to get our point across', I want them to see the more fun Alex Scott that maybe they didn't see and be around a group of people and try and come out of myself more."
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX. Lorraine is broadcasted weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.
