Angry Ginge's mum has disclosed her heartbreaking response to witnessing her son's difficulties on I'm A Celebrity.

The 24-year-old content creator was clearly distressed during Monday (November 24) night's instalment of the ITV show, admitting his longing for home.

Prior to jetting off to Australia to support him from the bridge, Michelle, Angry Ginge's mother, told The Sun: "I haven't managed to watch the full episode yet as I've been travelling, but I saw a clip on TikTok. My heart absolutely sank, I started crying.

"It was so hard to see, because I know Morgan is such a strong person, so he must have been struggling a lot. I just can't wait to give him the biggest hug on that bridge."

We previously reported how Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, shares an "unbreakable bond" with his single mother following a challenging childhood with his father, reports the Express.

He became emotional after admitting to missing home and texting his mum - who raised him and his sister on a yearly income of £12.5k.

His decision to join I'm A Celeb is said to be inspired by his mother, with whom he used to watch the show growing up.

Ginge hopes to use any future opportunities arising from the popular ITV show to "pay back" his mum for the sacrifices she made during his upbringing.

"He might act like one of the lads but Ginge is a mummy's boy at heart," our source revealed. "He puts her first and foremost in his life and feels he wants to repay her for all she sacrificed for him.

"His childhood was rocky and they didn't have much. For Ginge, being on I'm a Celeb provides an opportunity to give back."

Ginge got candid in last night's episode, confessing: "It's a bit of a sh*t day really, I just feel as though I'm missing home, missing speaking to my family, food and drink as well is a massive part but they say you have up days and down days."

He couldn't hide his emotions, covering his face with his hands and admitting: "I'm holding it in. I suppose it's just one of my down days."

Later in the episode, he broke down again, expressing his longing for contact with his mum. "It's just a long time to be away really," he confessed.

"On the outside I have the option to just text my mum or whoever I want. Don't get me wrong I know I'm going to see her in however many days, it's just tough."

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here airs everyday from 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
