The cherished Malone family from Gogglebox have welcomed a fresh addition to their household.

The family - featuring Tom Malone Senior, his wife Julie and sons Shaun and Tom Jnr - first appeared on the Channel 4 programme back in 2014. Their daughter Vanessa has also featured in numerous episodes throughout the years.

Since their debut, the family, alongside their pack of Rottweiler dogs, have established themselves as viewer favourites through their witty remarks and consistent ability to entertain audiences.

Despite Tom Jnr's departure in 2021, the remaining family members have continued to feature on the programme, returning for its 26th series which launched last year.

The family endured heartbreak last year following the passing of their cherished dog Bob. Bob became the fourth canine companion the Malones have lost since 2018, reports the Mirror.

Their four-legged companion Frank passed away in 2018, and four years on, another beloved pup named Lucy also died. Tragically, in 2023, the family suffered further loss when Dave also passed away.

Nevertheless, the family have now brought home another dog, announcing the news during Thursday's episode (January 1) of Gogglebox. Throughout the show, Tom, Julie and Shaun appeared alongside granddaughter Saoirse.

Speaking to Saoirse, Tom asked: "Who have we got here?" The delightful new addition then made its screen debut, captured enjoying playtime. Tom exclaimed: "Buddy! Is he your new doggie? Have you rescued him from the pound?" Saoirse responded: "Yeah," as the puppy, Buddy, continued to frolic with his new family.

Tom then joked: "We got this again have we? We got another nutcase in the house haven't we? All right buddy are you the nutcase of the house now? !".

In June last year, their son Shaun revealed on Instagram that the family's cherished dog Bob had passed away. Alongside heartfelt videos and photos of the dog, he penned: "Today is the day we had to say goodbye to big Bob, an absolutely great dog like a big cuddly bear."

Meanwhile, mum Julie expressed: "Today we sad goodbye to our beautiful protective Bobby, he spent his last day doing what he loved, watching over the Grandchildren playing in the garden .We are heartbroken. RIP our beautiful Big Bob xx."
