Richard Madeley has provided a health update following his return to Good Morning Britain.
The 69-year-old presenter was missing from the ITV morning show earlier this week, with ITV News editor Paul Brand filling in alongside Susanna Reid.
On Monday, Susanna welcomed Paul and revealed that Richard had been compelled to withdraw at short notice due to being unwell.
She opened Monday's programme by saying: "Welcome to the programme, Richard Madeley, due to be on air this morning, a little bit poorly, so get well soon Richard, watching from home as Paul Brand takes the hot seat."
Paul joked, "Get well soon, Richard, and come and help me out! I don't know what I'm doing, and I've never sat next to you before either, so this is fresh territory for me."
Following Paul's return to the programme on Tuesday, Richard resumed his regular position and offered a health update today, reports Wales Online.
Susanna enquired: "By the way, I haven't said welcome back, and how are you feeling?".
Richard responded: "I had Covid, as you know, the active stage has gone now, and I'm okay again.
"But it does leave me washed out. I do feel I'm operating at 80% this morning, so I hope it doesn't show."
Susanna remarked: "But your 80% is any other person's 110%!".
Richard expressed gratitude to fans for their kind wishes and encouraging messages before proceeding with the programme.
The former This Morning host has previously been candid about battling Covid, disclosing in 2023 that he had lost his hearing after catching the virus. At the time, he was told his hearing would return to normal within a few weeks, after feeling as if his ear was "corked up."
Speaking to The Sun, Richard said: "I got a post-COVID complication. It'll heal in time, but for now it's a total pain - it feels like I've got a cork in my right lughole!".
"Funnily enough, doing GMB, which I was a bit worried about, gives me better hearing because I wear my studio earpiece in that ear and I can wind up the volume to the max: it's a bit like having a hearing aid, I suppose.
"I'll just have to be patient - my ENT [Ear, Nose and Throat] guy says perforated eardrums take a few weeks to self-heal. So there'll be a lot of ''pardon?'' and ''what?'' from me between now and Christmas."
The telly host was also left devastated when he had to pull out of I'm A Celebrity in 2021 after being rushed to hospital with a sudden illness, breaking the programme's Covid bubble in the process.
He later put fans' minds at ease, confirming he was "absolutely fine" and revealed: "I started to feel briefly unwell in the small hours of the morning and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"By leaving the camp, I had consequently broken the Covid 'bubble' and as such I've had to leave the castle and all the wonderful celebs that remain in the camp.
"Obviously, I'm gutted to be leaving so soon, but the safety of all the campmates is the number one priority.
"I'm incredibly excited to watch their journey continue...even more so at the prospect of being somewhere a little warmer than Gwrych Castle... Thank you to everyone who supported me on my brief but completely unforgettable adventure – I've made some great friends and honestly had the time of my life."
