Gary Lineker's place a BBC Christmas special has been axed.
The former Match of the Day presenter was among several celebrity guests brought in to assist contestants on Celebrity Apprentice. He was filmed flogging gingerbread biscuits for Children in Need during the forthcoming festive episode.
Gary - who recorded his segment in March, two months prior to departing Match of the Day - has now been edited out owing to time constraints.
Gary departed the BBC following his final Match of the Day presentation in May. He had been anticipated to remain at the helm of men's FA Cup and World Cup coverage, but faced backlash after posting on social media about Zionism, which featured an illustration of a rat, historically employed as an antisemitic slur.
Lineker stated he hadn't noticed the image, and "would never consciously repost anything antisemitic". He continued: "However, I recognise the error and upset that I caused, and reiterate how sorry I am. Stepping back now feels like the responsible course of action.", reports the Mirror.
Lord Alan Sugar had previously expressed his admiration for the high-profile names the teams secured.
He remarked: "I was very impressed that they managed to call these people in, they are top names.
"The main thing is that these celebrities, and I have a lot of respect for them, is they give up three days of their busy time for this great cause, it's the money that's raised for Children in Need."
Lord Sugar's trusted adviser, Baroness Karren Brady, has been singing the praises of the celebrity line-up who've stepped forward to support the cause.
She said: "There are so many people that are coming to help us, and they're coming because they love the show, they love the charity, and clearly they have a connection with the celebrities.
"So Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robbie Williams. Piers Morgan – I don't think we should forget that one. And Rylan Clark and Gary Lineker."
The special edition will whisk the famous faces off to the snowy landscapes of Lapland, Finland, where they'll craft Christmas goodies before securing retailers to stock them, all in aid of raising vital funds for charity. In an exciting twist, this marks the "first time ever" that the public will be able to purchase the teams' festive creations.
The star-studded cast for the Christmas special of The Apprentice includes Jake Wood, AJ Odudu, Angela Scanlon, Charlie Hedges, Eddie Kadi, JB Gill, Kadeena Cox, Matt Morsia, Rob Rinder, Sarah Hadland, Shazia Mirza and Tom Skinner – who became a household name after his stint on the regular series – all featuring across two festive episodes.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC's head of entertainment commissioning, previously teased: "The celebrity candidates will be giving viewers a tasty treat or two this Christmas that viewers can literally sink their teeth into, all while supporting the incredible work of BBC Children in Need. Are viewers going to be Team Gary the Penguin or Team Jolly McTrouble? Let the festive boardroom battle begin!".
