Donald Trump admits Melania told him one habit he does is 'unpresidential'

Donald Trump has admitted his wife Melania hates when he does one habit at events, telling him it's 'unpresidential' - but the US President says supporters love it and he won't be stopping

Donald Trump has offered a candid confession about his dancing after his recent moves were ridiculed across social media platforms.

During a speech to House Republicans at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on January 6 - marking five years since the Capitol riots following his efforts to remain in office - the US President addressed his party's plans for 2026 and warned of potential impeachment if Republicans suffer losses in the midterm elections. The 79-year-old then proceeded to dance to the Village People's hit YMCA.

"My wife hates it when I do this," he confessed, before pumping his fists to the classic tune. "She's a very classy person, right?", Trump continued.

He added: "She said, 'It's so unpresidential'. I said, 'But I did become President'. She hates when I dance. I said, 'Everbody wants me to dance'", reports the Express.

Trump elaborated: "She said, 'Could you actually imagine FDR [Franklin D. Roosevelt] dancing?' She said that to me. I have to say this though, the dancing - they [supporters] really like it. She said, 'They don't like it, they are just being nice to you'. I said, 'That's not right, the place goes crazy. They are screaming, 'Dance please!'".

Responding to clips of his performance on TikTok, one viewer commented: "It's so embarrassing to have him as our president."

Another remarked: "Everything about this would be so much funnier if he wasn't actually president."

A third wondered: "Does he want to be a stand up comedian after he finishes his term?" A fourth TikTok user criticised: "Gosh this is so dystopian, straight out of a fiction book."

However, for every critic of Trump, there seems to be an admirer.

"We don't care if it is unpresidential, we love it, we love you Mr. President and we love First Lady Melania," one supporter declared.

Another fan concurred: "We love it and we love her too!" A third echoed the sentiment: "It's great! Always makes me giggle. Love him and HER!".

On Tuesday, Trump also launched a tirade against former US presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden. He reiterated his baseless assertion that the election in which he was defeated by Biden "was rigged", and claimed "nobody is worse" than Obama.

Trump also suggested that "the fake news" would label him a dictator following his peculiar rant about elections and former Democratic leaders. "They have the worst policy. How we have to even run against these people. Now I won't say cancel the election, they should cancel the election, because the fake news will say, 'He wants the elections cancelled. He's a dictator.'".

"They always call me a dictator. Nobody is worse than Obama. And the people that surrounded Biden. Not Biden, I don't think it was Biden, he didn't know what the hell was going on. The election was rigged. He had no idea what happened. He still doesn't."
