A crime drama hailed as a "masterpiece" has dropped on ITVX and is free to watch now.
Grosse Pointe Garden Society first premiered stateside last February and has finally made its way to British screens via the streaming service.
The 13-episode series boasts a stellar cast including Melissa Fumero, Aja Naomi King, Ben Rappaport, AnnaSophia Robb, Matthew Davis, Alexander Hodge and Nancy Travis, following four affluent members of a Michigan suburban gardening society concealing a dark and deadly secret.
Alice (Robb), Birdie (Fumero), Catherine (King) and Brett (Rappaport) are forced to hide a corpse in their pristine gardens after becoming embroiled in a murder, all while frantically trying to stop their chilling secret from coming to light.
As the crime threatens to catch up with them, their seemingly picture-perfect lives begin to unravel whilst they fight to keep up appearances amongst their exclusive social set, reports the Express, reports Wales Online.
The official synopsis states: "Grosse Pointe Garden Society follows four members of a suburban garden club who find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief and a shared secret - a murder no one wants to talk about.
"As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above."
Fans hailed Grosse Pointe Garden Society as a "masterpiece", with one writing: "Absolutely one of the best shows I have seen in a while. It isn't your average "crime mystery" or who done it!
"I love that it keeps you guessing. The characters are well-rooted and grow beautifully over time, making it easy to get attached.
"A true bouquet of drama, humor, and creativity! This show definitely deserves a spot in your must-watch flowerbed."
Another called the new ITVX arrival "a great guilty pleasure", while someone else said: "Grosse Pointe Garden Society is a delicious mix of dark humor, mystery, and suburban drama. Think Desperate Housewives meets Big Little Lies, with a gardening twist."
They went on: "It's stylish, addictive, and way more fun than it has any right to be. If you love drama with a little dirt under its nails, this is your next binge. Don't sleep on it-this garden's full of surprises."
Another fan enthused: "I devoured Grosse Pointe Garden Society. It's witty. It's different. It's FUN! I enjoyed every second of this wild ride of a tv show! I think it's one of the best things on tv in a long time!".
One viewer called it "perfection", whilst another admitted they were "hooked", and yet another branded it "irresistibly scandalous".
But despite the overwhelming acclaim, devotees were left disappointed when it emerged the show would not return for a second series.
The cancellation is especially frustrating due to the dramatic cliffhanger ending of the season finale, which left viewers in suspense.
Disgruntled fans expressed their disappointment on social media. One fan wrote: "Ah, damn. The set up for season 2 looked intriguing. Disappointed it's over."
Another commented: "We will never know the outcome of the duck! !" while another posted: "Hope we can convince the writers to let us know something...What a Bummer!".
One user stated: "Well this is disappointing," while another shared: "That sucks. I was invested. I hate it when shows end on a cliffhanger or with unfinished stories."
Another fan echoed the sentiment, saying: "My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined," while another added: "This is devastating to me."
Fumero also expressed her sadness over the Grosse Pointe Garden Society's conclusion, posting on Instagram in June: "Oh, Birdie. You were one for the books. You felt like an amalgamation of every role I've ever played.
"I'll miss so many things about this job, but most of all I will miss the incredible group of humans it brought together. I won't miss the shoes.
"It's really hard to make a show. Even harder to keep it on air. I'll forever be proud of what we made. Thanks for watching."
